Educational Video: The Role of Probation in Criminal Law

by Francis Camstra in
Educational Video: The Role of Probation in Criminal Law We produced a twenty minute educational film for the Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC). The goal of this project is to train Ukrainian judges and legal professionals in applying probation and alternative sanctions. Ukraine has been reforming its criminal justice system since 2015. CILC needed an effective way to accurately translate the theory of the Dutch model into foreign practice. The video clarifies legal theory using a realistic case study. We follow the entire criminal process of a fictional suspect from the initial arrest to the final verdict in the courtroom. Between the acted scenes, the involved professionals directly explain the reasoning behind their choices. A public prosecutor, a judge and a probation officer detail how they collaborate to reduce the risk of recidivism and provide tailored sentencing. This approach makes complex legal considerations and interagency cooperation immediately understandable. The film was produced in Dutch with Ukrainian and English subtitles and currently serves as a training tool for the judicial academy in Ukraine. The format is designed so it can be easily translated for training programs in other countries in the future. Looking to have an educational video produced? Get […]

by Francis Camstra in
Recruitment Video Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: Welcome Message from the Mayor We produced a personal welcome video featuring Mayor Marianne Schuurmans for the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer’s career website. The municipality wanted to give potential candidates a warm and inviting feeling the moment they visit the site. We opted for an informal setting where the mayor speaks directly to the viewer to build immediate enthusiasm. In the video, the mayor shares her personal application experience. She discusses her transition to this dynamic municipality and highlights its massive growth ambitions. She furthermore provides applicants with a practical tip on writing a strong motivation letter. The visuals showcase the open office environment and conclude in the council chamber. The mayor ends with a personal prospect. New employees take their official oath of office directly with her during the introduction days. This approach turns the video into a powerful tool to instantly bridge the gap between the administration and future staff. Looking to have a recruitment video produced? by Francis Camstra in
Recruitment Video Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: Opportunities for Young Professionals We produced a series of personal employee profiles for the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer’s career website. Each participant brought a personal item to the set. This episode features Kevin from the HR department. He brought a pedometer to represent his daily lunchtime walks with the team. This item perfectly captures the welcoming company culture and the value placed on a healthy work environment. Stepping away from the desk provides fresh energy and builds strong connections among colleagues. The video highlights how the municipality creates real opportunities for young professionals. Kevin originally applied as a student with a background in hospitality. The organization looked past his lack of government experience and immediately put their trust in him. We showcase his seamless career progression from a working student and intern to a full-time professional. Furthermore, the narrative offers a genuine look at his current role as a corporate recruiter. Kevin initially worried the job would consist entirely of cold-calling candidates. Today, he enthusiastically manages a highly diverse portfolio. His daily responsibilities include employer branding, organizing open house events, and networking with universities. Recruitment Video Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: The Human Behind the Professional

by Francis Camstra in
Recruitment Video Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: The Human Behind the Professional We produced a series of personal employee portraits for the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer’s recruitment website. To make the stories visually engaging and authentic right from the start, we asked each employee to bring a personal item to the set. This episode features a team member from the Center for Youth and Family (CJG). Her item, a set of Playmobil figures, turns out not to be toys, but a crucial visual tool used to map out complex family dynamics and the relationships between social workers, parents, and children. The video revolves entirely around the balance between professionalism and humanity. We highlight an impressive career trajectory, from starting via a temp agency to becoming an internal coach over a span of more than twenty years. However, the true focus lies on vulnerability. By featuring her experience speaking at an internal storytelling event (‘Publix’), we show that the municipality is an employer that literally gives you the stage to share your personal story. This results in a recruitment video that informs candidates about career growth, and also immediately conveys a strong sense of psychological safety and connection. Recruitment Video Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: From the Commercial Sector to Social Impact

by Francis Camstra in
Recruitment Video Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: From the Commercial Sector to Social Impact We produced a series of employee portraits for the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer’s recruitment website. The goal of this specific video was to inspire career changers. The municipality wanted to demonstrate that you don’t necessarily need a typical government background or highly specific technical knowledge to play a crucial role, as long as you bring the right project management skills and mindset. In this portrait, we follow an employee who transitioned from the commercial automotive industry to the municipality’s spatial planning domain. By highlighting his personal motivation (helping to build a better living environment for his children) we give the municipality’s massive challenge (building 20,000 new homes and ensuring accessibility) an immediate human face. The result is an authentic story proving that the government offers you the space to take responsibility and directly influence your own community. Looking to have a recruitment video produced? Working at the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: Innovation and Impact in the Social Domain

by Francis Camstra in
We produced a series of recruitment videos for the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer. This episode focuses on the Social Domain. The municipality wanted to show that working in this field goes beyond executing standard procedures; it’s about innovation, trust, and direct contact with residents. The challenge was to strike a balance between the human side of the work, such as the Center for Youth and Family (CJG), and the progressive vision of a rapidly growing municipality. In this video, passionate employees share how they truly make a difference. We highlight striking contrasts: from pioneering with AI in the social sector to taking the time to build trust with residents directly in their neighborhoods. Furthermore, we showcase the exceptional internal career opportunities through the story of a colleague who has been given the space to reinvent themselves in various roles over the past twenty years. The result is a video that shatters the stereotype of a rigid government, revealing a flexible, innovative employer instead. Looking to have a recruitment video produced? Working at the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: Impact in the Physical Domain

by Francis Camstra in
Working at the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: Impact in the Physical Domain We produced a series of three recruitment videos for the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer, tailored to the physical, social, and operations domains. The challenge for the physical domain video was to capture the sheer scale of the municipality’s spatial ambitions, such as building 20,000 new homes by 2040, without losing the human element. The municipality needed to attract professionals eager to make an impact in a dynamic region, while also showcasing themselves as an employer that heavily invests in personal development. We opted for an authentic, employee-driven narrative. Instead of a corporate voiceover, the video relies on the genuine enthusiasm of a team member. It highlights the dynamic nature of the work: from consulting with local farmers and residents to planning strategic mobility around Schiphol airport. By emphasizing the freedom employees have to literally shape their own roles and responsibilities, a standard recruitment pitch transforms into a compelling story about building the local environment as well as your own career. Working at the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: Operations

by Francis Camstra in
Working at the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer: The Driving Force of the Organization (Operations) We produced a series of recruitment videos for the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer. This episode, focusing on the Operations domain, highlights the engine of the organization. The challenge was to demonstrate that supporting services, from internal communications and IT to facility management, have a direct impact on citizens. After all, without solid internal processes, there is no effective external service delivery. In the video, we focused on genuine stories from the workplace. Employees share their experiences with opportunities for growth and the practical benefits of hybrid working. A strong focal point in the narrative is digital transformation: by streamlining standard procedures like passport and driver’s license applications, employees free up time for the ‘human touch’ in complex, individual cases. This shows that working in operations is about efficiency as much as it’s about innovation and human connection. Looking to have a recruitment video produced?
