FAQ Series Kosovo Specialist Chambers: Human Rights of Defendants
We produced a series of FAQ videos for the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) to provide direct answers to the public’s most pressing questions. This episode centers on protecting the human rights of defendants. The court asked us to clearly explain the complex legal mechanisms that guarantee a fair trial to the communities in Kosovo.
In the video, we unpack the different layers of protection: from the judges in the courtroom and the appeals process, to the independent oversight by the Constitutional Court and the Ombudsperson. By emphasizing that all decisions regarding complaints are publicly available, we make the abstract concept of ‘human rights’ concrete and verifiable for the viewer. The result is a factual explainer showing that the justice system operates under the highest international standards. To ensure maximum reach, this video was also produced in English, Serbian, and Albanian.
